Business Developer
About Six Robotics
At Six Robotics, we build intelligent software that gives Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) the ability to collaborate, adapt on the fly, and execute missions that were previously impossible.
From our base in Oslo, our team of 90+ engineers, researchers, and defence specialists develops our autonomy and swarm platform, used by both government and industry. Working closely with the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI) and end users, we move quickly from ideas to field deployment, solving problems where software meets the real world.
The challenges we work on don't come with existing playbooks. They demand deep technical thinking, close collaboration across disciplines, and the ability to learn quickly as both the technology and the company evolve.
At Six Robotics, every person executes with precision, adapts to changing conditions, and strengthens the team. If you're excited about building systems that matter and growing alongside talented people that push boundaries every day, you'll find no better place to deliver real-world impact.
About The Role
Six Robotics is scaling its commercial engine to match the scale of our ambitions, building a real sales function that can identify, pursue, and close opportunities across an expanding international footprint. Today, our sales organization is small and lean, which means this role comes with a real mandate from day one. You won't be one voice among many; working alongside our existing business developer, you'll directly shape how we go to market, open new markets, and turn early conversations into signed deals.
Defence sales don't move alone. They move through relationships built over years, across partners, sales channels, and end users from soldiers to generals. You'll decide which markets, programmes, and partners are worth pursuing, and own the full sales process end to end, from first contact to close.
You'll represent Six Robotics at industry events and demos, manage relationships with governmental stake holders. partners and end users, and keep leadership close to what's happening in the pipeline. Success after six months looks like a credible, well-mapped pipeline: you know where the real opportunities are, you understand the stakeholders behind each one, and you're already shaping the requirements and tenders you'll eventually win.
This is a role for someone who wants to build, not just manage accounts. As results come in, you'll grow into a team that will be scalable.
What You Will Do
Identify and qualify new opportunities across relevant markets, including programmes worth participating in
Evaluate and select the right partners, platforms, and agents for Six to work with
Build and execute a go-to-market plan through third party sales channels across NATO-countries, including ongoing account management
Own the full sales process end to end, from initial contact through to closing contracts
Build and maintain relationships with end users, from soldiers to generals, as well as with delivery partners
Represent Six Robotics at relevant industry events and demos
Collaborate with the leadership team, and keep them updated on pipeline progress and opportunities
What we are looking for
We believe the right candidate brings
We're looking for someone who sees this as more than closing deals. We believe you are someone who's driven by the mission and understands that defence sales plays out over years, not quarters. Real experience in defence sales is a must. The trust, patience, and relationships this space demands aren't something you can shortcut. What matters most is that you're self-driven and comfortable owning a sales process alone in unfamiliar markets. You're energized by being on the road, not tied to a desk. During peak periods, this role can mean spending up to 50%+ of your time travelling to meet partners and end users where the relationships that matter are actually built.
Must-have qualifications:
Minimum 4–5+ years of experience within the defence sector, ideally within business development or sales, but relevant experience from elsewhere in defence is also valid. The exact role you've held matters less than having genuine domain experience
An established network within defence circles
Proven sales results from a similar role
The Persona we are looking for:
Ability to work independently and take initiative with little need for oversight
A track record of closing deals yourself, not just running a pipeline
Motivation to join a fast-paced scale-up, take ownership of a market, and build something from an early stage
Nice-to-have:
A background from the military (officer training or equivalent) is a strong plus
A network spanning Norway, the Nordics, or major European markets specifically
An academic background is not a requirement, but a bonus. In this industry, experience and network outweigh formal education
Personal fit matters just as much as the CV. We're looking for a specific type of person. Someone with the right instincts, credibility, and presence to operate in this environment, so personal suitability will weigh heavily in our assessment.
Why You Should Join
Build at the edge of what's possible: You'll work on problems the industry hasn't solved yet, alongside people who are pushing the boundaries of autonomy, AI, and robotics.
Grow as fast as the company: We believe that chance favours those in motion. The role you're hired into is just the starting point. As Six Robotics evolves, so will your scope, your responsibilities, and your opportunities. Deliver results, and you'll be building and leading your own team.
Work with exceptional people: Surround yourself with people who raise your own standards. You'll join a team of ambitious engineers and operators who care deeply about the quality of their work. Expectations are high, but so is the willingness to help each other improve.
Ship work that matters: The things you sell don't stay in a demo environment. They get deployed, tested, and used where reliability and performance genuinely matter.
Supported by great benefits: Alongside meaningful work, we offer competitive compensation, equity potential, strong pension and insurance plans, gadget budgets, modern equipment, panoramic offices, and the flexibility you need to do your best work.
