People Partner
Behind every fast-growing company is a strong People Function. Be part of building and defining it at Six Robotics.
At Six Robotics, we build intelligent software that gives Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) the ability to collaborate, adapt on the fly, and execute missions that were previously impossible. From our base in Oslo, our 70+ experts in defence, software, and AI develop our product, our flagship autonomy and swarm platform used by both government and industry. In close partnership with the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI), we move fast from concept to live deployment, often in the field alongside end users.
We work with advanced hardware and software, a modern tech stack, and missions that demand both technical mastery and operational discipline. Everyone is close to the action, from deep technical problem-solving to field operations. We move fast and value clarity, integrity, and teamwork in everything we do.
At Six Robotics, every person executes with precision, adapts to changing conditions, and strengthens the team. Getting in is hard, and you’ll be challenged every day. But if you have the skill, the discipline, and the drive to push your limits, you’ll find no better place to deliver real-world impact while collaborating and learning from the best in the field.
About the role
We’ve grown rapidly over the past two years, hiring more than 50 people and building a team of 70+ today. As we continue scaling toward 120+ employees through 2026, growth will remain high, with hiring at a pace of 5+ new employees per month.
The challenge is no longer just attracting talent.
The challenge is building an organization that can keep up with that growth.
Until now, people responsibilities have largely been handled alongside recruitment and day-to-day needs. This has worked well at our current stage. As we continue to grow, we need to strengthen the structure behind the organization: how we develop leaders, define expectations, align around the mission, support high performance, and create clarity across teams.
We are entering a phase where the organization will evolve quickly, and that comes with increased complexity, new demands on leaders, and a greater need for alignment and consistency in how we operate and lead people.
We know that growth brings friction. The goal is not to avoid it entirely, but to handle it well; being prepared, addressing challenges early, and building in a way that allows the organization to scale without losing momentum.
That’s why we are hiring our first People Partner.
This role is about helping us build the foundations needed to support a growing and ambitious company. You will work proactively to strengthen leadership, improve how we work with performance and feedback, and introduce the right level of structure as we scale.
A key part of the role is finding the right balance between building enough structure to support growth while maintaining the flexibility, speed, and ownership that define how we work. We will need clearer frameworks and ways of working, but without introducing unnecessary complexity. Our goal is to create an environment where people have the autonomy to make decisions, supported by the right tools and guidance to make good ones.
The role will report directly to the Head of People, and you will collaborate closely with Leadership, team leads, and Talent Acquisition to shape and develop the company moving forward.
What You Will Do
Because we are growing quickly, the exact priorities in this role will evolve. Things will change, new challenges will appear, and priorities will shift. Some problems will matter more than others depending on where we are in the journey.
We do not believe in defining a fixed list of responsibilities that may be outdated before you even start. Instead, this role is about identifying what matters most, focusing your effort where it has the highest impact, and helping the organization stay ahead as it grows.
Over your first 12 months, we expect you to contribute to outcomes like:
Build a high-performance culture: Strengthen feedback, accountability, and performance expectations in a company where speed and quality both matter.
Develop the next generation of leaders: Support managers in becoming clear, confident leaders who can set expectations, make decisions, and handle challenges early.
Establish the right level of structure: Introduce scalable practices, processes, and ways of working that create clarity without adding unnecessary complexity or slowing people down.
Ensure legal compliance (without over-engineering): Build confidence around compliance, policies, and governance in a way that fits a fast-moving company.
Strengthen engagement and alignment: Help create an environment where people understand expectations, feel ownership, and are motivated to perform at a high level.
Upgrade systems and tools: Improve the people foundation through better systems, data, and technology that enable smarter and more scalable people operations.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a People Partner who is motivated by building something that does not yet exist. You are comfortable operating without a predefined playbook, and you know how to create structure where it matters without over-engineering solutions.
You have likely worked in a startup or scaleup before and understand the reality of growth: shifting priorities, limited resources, and the need to make decisions quickly. You are energized by growth and complexity, and you take ownership of moving things forward, even when priorities shift or information is incomplete.
You think like a business partner, not a support function. You care about performance, accountability, and clarity, and you are willing to address difficult situations early rather than letting them grow. At the same time, you are pragmatic and grounded. You focus on what works in practice, not just theory or best-practice frameworks.
We believe you bring:
Around 5 years of experience building or strengthening a People/HR function in a startup, scaleup, or high-growth environment.
Experience working closely with senior leadership, acting as a trusted partner on people, organizational, and performance-related topics.
Strong understanding of performance management, feedback cultures, and organizational development in a fast-paced environment.
Solid knowledge of Norwegian labour law and the ability to apply it pragmatically in a growing company.
A structured and business-oriented approach, with strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in changing environments
Fluency in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken
In addition to this, it would also be highly beneficial if you have experience from an international company or cross-cultural environment, and familiarity with implementing HR systems and improving the use of tools and data (including AI).
