Sourcing Manager - Hardware / Partner Support
About Six Robotics
At Six Robotics, we build intelligent software that gives Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) the ability to collaborate, adapt on the fly, and execute missions that were previously impossible. From our base in Oslo, our 50+ experts in defence, software, and AI develop Valkyrie, our flagship autonomy and swarm platform used by both government and industry. In close partnership with the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI), we move fast from concept to live deployment, often in the field alongside end users.
We work with advanced hardware and software, a modern tech stack, and missions that demand both technical mastery and operational discipline. Everyone is close to the action, from deep technical problem-solving to field operations. We move fast and value clarity, integrity, and teamwork in everything we do.
At Six Robotics, every person executes with precision, adapts to changing conditions, and strengthens the team. Getting in is hard, and you’ll be challenged every day. But if you have the skill, the discipline, and the drive to push your limits and always be sharpening your blade, you’ll find no better place to deliver real-world impact while collaborating and learning from the best in the field.
About The Role
At Six Robotics, hardware and partners are a critical part of our ability to deliver reliable, certified, mission-ready systems. As we scale, we are strengthening how sourcing, supplier engagement, and partner collaboration are embedded into our product and project execution - early, deliberately, and with clear ownership.
As Sourcing Manager at Six Robotics, you will own both the strategic and operational sourcing of hardware components and partner-delivered products. Your mission is to ensure that supplier engagement starts early, that technical and commercial expectations are clear from day one, and that sourcing decisions actively support customer commitments, certification requirements, and long-term product strategy.
We want this role to bring structure where ownership is diffuse, and to shift sourcing from a reactive function to a proactive, value-creating capability. You will sit close to projects, product, and engineering in cooperation with the Head of Supply Chain, - shaping scopes early, identifying risks before they materialise, and ensuring that requirements, timelines, and conditions are set upfront rather than discovered late.
You will act as the supply chain spokesperson in cross-functional discussions, supporting roadmap prioritisation, partner strategy, and supplier performance, while building trust internally and externally through clarity, professionalism, and strong execution.
What You Will Do
Own strategic and operational sourcing for hardware categories and business partners, acting on behalf of the organisation in projects and supplier engagements.
Lead early supplier engagement, ensuring technical requirements, specifications, and commercial expectations are aligned from the first conversation
Ensure the requirements for our product (Valkyrie) are fully reflected in negotiations, sourcing documentation, and supplier evaluations.
Establish and maintain a structured approach to certifications, compliance documentation, CoCs, and customer-required artefacts as part of the sourcing process
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Project and Product areas to verify supplier capabilities, lifecycle expectations, traceability, and governance standards.
Drive supplier audits and deviation assessments together with our Quality Engineer.
Define KPIs, reporting structures, and category management frameworks to continuously improve sourcing performance.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is highly structured, analytically strong, and comfortable operating early in the process - shaping scopes, requirements, and expectations before decisions are locked in.
You understand that strong sourcing is not just about procurement, but about timing, clarity, and trust. You proactively surface constraints, risks, and alternatives, rather than reacting to issues late in the process. You are comfortable being thrown into complex product- and project-driven discussions, and you know how to establish credibility quickly, even in situations where purchasing power is limited or market dynamics are challenging.
You communicate clearly, negotiate firmly without burning bridges, and build long-term supplier relationships based on professionalism and mutual respect. You read the room, understand cultural nuances in global sourcing, and adapt your approach without losing sight of objectives.
We believe the right candidate brings
5+ years of proven experience in procurement and sourcing in a technology- or industrial environment, preferably with hardware.
Strong analytical and structural skills, with experience in negotiations, contracts, and data-driven decision-making.
Experience developing supplier strategies and navigating different market dynamics, including constrained or monopolistic supplier environments.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, logistics, finance, leadership, and external partners.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally.
A hands-on, proactive mindset, comfortable operating close to projects and product teams.
The maturity to operate independently and build trust in complex, high-stakes discussions.
Fluency in English. (Norwegian is not required).
Nice-to-haves:
Experience with regulated industries, certification-heavy environments, or defence-related sourcing.
Exposure to hardware–software integrated products or field-deployed systems.
Background from larger organizations combined with experience operating with limited purchasing leverage.
