Are you passionate about creating seamless, intuitive designs for advanced human-machine interfaces (HMI)? Six Robotics is looking for a Senior UX Designer to lead the development of user experiences for our UAV systems. This role focuses on interaction design and user-centered solutions that empower operators to manage AI-assisted drone systems effectively.

About The Role

As Senior Designer at Six Robotics, you will:

• Lead the design of the Valkyrie Ground Control Station.

• Responsible for shaping Six Robotics’ interaction design guidelines, including creating and maintaining our design system.

• Ensure intuitive and efficient user experiences for AI-assisted, multi-role UAV operations and real-time decision-making.

• Conduct user research to understand operator workflows and translate insights into actionable design solutions.

• Collaborate closely with engineers and product teams to bridge the gap between technical functionality and user needs.

• Develop prototypes and wireframes to test and iterate on interaction designs.

• Be responsible for creating production-ready documentation for continuous developer handoff.

• Drive the evolution of UX best practices in autonomous systems and human-robot interaction.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interaction design, human-computer interaction, or a related field.

• Proven experience designing HMIs or UX for complex systems, preferably in robotics, aviation, or defense.

• Strong portfolio showcasing interaction design and user-centered processes.

• High proficiency in Figma.

• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers and product managers.

• Fluent in English; Norwegian language skills are a plus.

Desired Skills

• Experience in designing control systems, HMI, or similar domains.

• Familiarity with usability testing methods and tools.

• Knowledge of visualization techniques for real-time data and decision-making interfaces.

• Experience working with hardware-integrated software systems.

The Process

• One or two additional meetings with potential close collaborators.
